What is a Blog?
First of all What a Blog or blogging is? A blog is actually a short for “weblog ” that basically is just a website or like a journal or your diary
that has entries listed in it and that was updated daily (or as frequently as the writer want to). Nowadays many software programs and
blogging platforms exists to make the blogging process very easy.
As a blog writer you need not know any programming languages. Starting a blog is one of the easiest ways out there to start your own
personal website. If you haven’t started one yet, why not try it? It can be very easy and quick to set up a Blog and can be completely free.

Even if you need any assistance, there are plenty of resources available on Internet to get the help you need.
Blogging will not cost you any thing as far as you stick to basic money earning, but yeah if you really want a blog only for making big
money, prefer moving up to a self-hosted blog. Anyone who is really trying to make money with a blog will probably be more successful
with a self-hosted blog.
Self-hosted means buying a domain name and web hosting space that is very inexpensive and may costs you as
low as $8-$10 or about Rs400 per year in India for a custom domain (e.g. myblog.com).
There are many Free Blogging Services around, like Google's Blogger.com , Tumblr.com , Wordpress.com etc. each having its own features
and limitations. Wordpress.com and Blogger.com are the popular ones that you can start with.
How to Earn from Blogging??
Earning money from blogs or websites does not mean that you need to sell something on your blogs or have to do some 8x5 hours job.

No!!! Earning money on blogs just need a one time effort and that effort is to put ads. Wondering what Ads?? Do not worry, Ads does not
mean that you need to ask big brand companies to put their Ads to your blogs. No!! There are already companies that provide free
services to put Ads in your blogs through which you can earn. Now how is this possible?
There are a few different ad networks that you can use in your blogs. The most successful one has been Google’s Adsense program .
Basically what they do is read the article that you write and find ads that are relevant to it and display them next to the article. The great
thing about it is that by having extremely relevant ads, it actually can be quite beneficial to the readers as well. For example, if you write
an article about Cricket or Soccer, Adsense would likely be displaying ads relating to cricket or soccer or sports. Adsense pays on a click
basis (CPC).
That means as a reader, if I clicked on any of ads showing on your blog, you will earn something. What you earned depends
on what Ad I clicked and what is the Ad Company paying for it.
Another few Ad networks that pays by the total number of impressions (CPM) are Tribal Fusion, Adsdaq, Casale Media, Adbrite ,Adify ,
Veremedia, and BuzzLogic. Each has their own strengths and weaknesses and may be suitable for one kind of a site and not another.
Affiliate Product Sales or Referral Programs are another way for monetizing your blog. Basically an example of an affiliate sale would be if
you sold lawn mowers and I referred a customer to you, if they purchased you would pay me back a percent of the sale for referring them.
There are a million options for this on the internet now. The main programs you can use are Amazon’s Affiliate program, LinkConnector,
Commission Junction, Shareasale, E-Junkie , and LinkShare . There are many others, but these are a few of the more popular ones
available.

Lastly but not least, If you are good enough or your blog or website has tremendous attraction, to attract Direct Ad Sales, then you can
sell ad space directly to advertisers which could make you extra income.
When will you start earning from a Blog?
Most people have this question in mind that when will they start earning money or how long will it take to make money. Well just like most
things in life, there is no legitimate quick and easy way. It takes time and hard work. I am not new to the concept of blogging but I started
my blog just recently and I am working daily 1-2 or sometimes 3 hours per day on my blog. And don’t forget, I have little Idea of
advertising, getting traffic, etc and I am still learning and applying this in my Blog. But I know this that money making from Blogs through
Ads is a slow process in beginning specially in first six months because most popular ad network Google's Adsense needs your blog or
website to be at-least six months old before applying ads on it. But once your Blog start getting older and older and you got to generate
more and more traffic, your income will start rising. Only you need to put something cracking in your blog articles so that users keep on
visiting your blog, traffic keeps on increasing, and the Ads that you placed, their clicks keep on rising.
Top Successful blogs are earning
millions from Adsense or other ad networks. I am also waiting for my share of Adsense but till then I am applying other ad networks and
affiliate programs that are not time bound.

Word of Precaution -
Never click the Ads on your blogs yourself, thinking of generating more revenue, because doing this will simply end
up with your account getting disabled. Thoroughly read the Terms and Conditions of the Ad Networks that you are applying to your blog
or website before signing up with them.
